How To: Paste a Journal Entry from Microsoft Excel to Microsoft Dynamics GP

By Lorna Link, GP Product Manager

A colleague sent me a link to a free tool that can copy and paste a journal entry from Excel to the General Ledger Transaction Entry window.

The basic premise is that you create a form template in the product window – to identify where your excel fields should be mapped. (Click on images to view larger)

You create your journal entry in an Excel spreadsheet, and then copy your lines….Just the lines – not the description rows.

Fill in the General Ledger transaction header information.

Click on the addition menu option and select the free Excel paste option.
